It’s Pension Tracing Day this Sunday (26 October 2025) – the annual day that encourages people to locate and trace their lost or forgotten pensions.

It also marks the end of Get Online Week (this year running from 20 to 26 October) and the day the clocks go back. So why not use that extra hour to get online and check if you have a lost pension? It could be well worth the effort, especially if you’ve had a few different jobs over the years.

Realistically, you probably won’t even need the whole hour. New research from the Pension Attention Campaign (see below), claims it takes an average of just over seven minutes to track down a lost pension.

Over 3 million lost UK pensions

Did you know there’s now an estimated 3.3 million lost or forgotten pensions in the UK alone, worth an average of £9,500 each. Could one of them be yours?

A good place to start checking is our Looking for a Lost Pension page.

Time to strengthen your pension

This year, Pension Tracing Day also falls on one of the final days of this year’s Pension Attention campaign, which launched on 5 September and runs until Monday next week (27 October 2025).

Led by the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and the Pensions UK, it aims to boost pension awareness by inspiring the nation to engage with their pension.

The theme of this year’s campaign is fitness and the idea of strengthening your pension to become financially fit for retirement – with a little help from TV star, Ross Kemp.
