Only one in five people feel confident funding their retirement, according to new research.

Research from over 50s financial services company, SunLife, has revealed that just 20 per cent of savers are confident they can fund their retirement through their savings, pensions and investments.

Nearly a third (32 per cent) of over 50s worry they won’t have enough money to live on in the future. Plus, 25 per cent of savers have no private or company pension, which means they will have to rely on their state pension instead.

Just over one in ten (12 per cent) expect to fund their retirement by continuing to work, while 39 per cent remain “hopeful” that they have built up a big enough pension.
