Frequently asked questions about My Pension Online.

Accessing My Pension Online

To reset your password for My Pension Online, just follow these simple steps:

1. Go to the Access my online account page of our website. Then select log in and your Scheme from the drop-down boxes and hit the Go button.

2. Select the forgotten your password link on the log in page.

3. Enter your email address and we’ll send you an email with instructions on how to create a new password. Then log in to the site as normal (using your new password).

If you’ve been having trouble activating and logging in to your online account, the easiest way to get started is to follow these simple steps:  

1. Go to the Access my online account page of our website. Then select Register and your Scheme from the drop-down boxes and hit the Go button. 

2. Enter your surname, National Insurance (NI) number, date of birth and email address, and click Register 

If your email address is on file, you’ll receive an email with your activation key and a link to complete your sign-up details. 

If your email address is not on file, you’ll receive a letter in the post, with your activation key (this may take a few days to arrive). 

3. Once you’ve received your email or letter, go to the Access my online account page, select Activate and enter your Scheme (as before). Then click Go

4. Enter your details as before (surname, NI number etc), along with your activation key (making sure the capitals / lower case letters match). Once accepted, you’ll just need to create your username, password and two security questions. 

That’s it – you’re good to go!

No. If you still have access to My Pension Online, this means you haven’t yet been transferred over to PensionPoint.  

We are planning to transfer members over to PensionPoint at different times throughout 2022. As soon as we know your transfer date, we will drop you an email to let you know how to log in and what you need to do. Until then, please continue to use My Pension Online.

How to register and activate a My Pension Online account

 

Your work pension – This is the money that’s taken directly from your wage each month and topped up by your employer. To view your contributions and calculate your latest benefits, you need to set up an account and register your details at My pensions online

Your state pension – As long as you have paid the necessary national insurance contributions, you will also be entitled to a state pension (when you reach State Pension Age). Full details of your state pension benefits are available at the gov.uk website

If you’re having trouble logging in, from the homepage of this website:

  1. Click My Pension Online and click through selecting your scheme, then click ‘Go’.
  2. Select ‘Forgotten username/password’.
  3. Enter the requested details.
  4. You will receive an email to change the forgotten details, allowing you to log on to My Pension Online as normal.

How to register and activate a My Pension Online account

 

PensionPoint

No. PensionPoint is replacing My Pension Online. So, if you have access to PensionPoint, this means your pension details have been transferred over and your My Pension Online account will have been closed.   

We are planning to transfer members over to PensionPoint at different times throughout 2022. 

Updating your details

  1. From the My Pension Online homepage, select Contact Us.
  2. In the comments box, enter your Name, Email, National Insurance number and Pension Scheme.
  3. Enter your message requesting this change, attach the certificate confirming your change of name and press Submit.

The change will be reflected on My Pension Online within five working days.

To update your address on My Pension Online (MPO) follow these three steps: 

  1. Log in to MPO and select the My Details pane. 
  2. Click on the Edit button. 
  3. Update your address details and click submit.

That’s it… your address will be updated on your account. 

 

To update your address on PensionPoint follow these three steps: 

  1. Log in to PensionPoint and go to My Dashboard.
  2. Select My personal information and choose the Update my home address option.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your new address and press submit. 

That’s it… your address will be updated on your account. 

Your activation code

You have 90 days to use your code before it expires. If you don’t use it within this timeframe, you will have to register again to be sent another code 

Your pension fund

The name of your pension fund should be at the top of any letters we’ve sent you about your pension. It is also usually the county where you work or where your employer is based.
